Why this space?

Make it your space

Much of what people remember about a congress happens between sessions. Our three foyers take care of that time: one opens off the ballroom for the plenary crowd, two sit upstairs beside the session rooms. Arrivals, coffee, lunch, a demo table and drinks all happen outside the room, so your room stays exactly as you set it.

Three foyers, three jobs

One opens off the ballroom for the plenary crowd; two sit upstairs between the session rooms. Your programme spreads out instead of queueing; 700 people can be on a break at once, without anybody standing in a corridor.

A welcome that's yours

The upstairs foyer carries a large welcome desk built to be branded, with comfortable seating around itIt is the first thing delegates see, so registration stops being a queue and starts being the opening line of your event.

Breaks don’t touch the set

Coffee, lunch or drinks are all served here, not in the room you have dressed. Your staging, seating and screens stay exactly where the crew left them and the next session starts on time because nothing has to be cleared first.

Walkway linked by daylight

The foyers sit either side of a 785m² walkway with floor-to-ceiling windows, daylight all day and coloured lighting in the evening. An exhibition or reception with plenty of space to work with just a few steps from your session.

FAQ's about our foyers

Questions & answers

How many people do the three foyers hold?
700 across the three and they are designed to be used at once rather than added together on paper. The ballroom foyer takes 300 at 270m²; the two first-floor foyers take 200 each at 200m². A plenary breaks downstairs while parallel tracks break upstairs and nobody ends up holding a coffee in a corridor
Usually they come with the room they serve, because that is what makes them work. But a first-floor foyer on its own carries a supplier reception, a press moment or an evening networking drink perfectly well at 200. Tell us what the foyer has to do and we’ll tell you straight away whether it needs the session rooms alongside it.

Yes, the large welcome desk on the first-floor foyer is built to be personalised with your branding for hosted meetings, and it is the first thing a delegate sees. Signage, wayfinding, a backdrop for the photos, sponsor presence around the catering points: bring the kit and we’ll hang it, or send the artwork and our team handles it before doors.

Yes, and it is one of the better reasons to take the first floor. The foyers open onto our 785m² Gallery Walkway with floor-to-ceiling windows connecting all the session rooms up there, so stands and demo tables sit in the natural path between sessions rather than in a hall people have to be persuaded to visit. Capacity up there runs to 700.
What can be catered in the foyers?
The full day, and this is where it belongs. Breakfast on arrival, coffee with fruit and pastries running through, lunch served standing or seated, and cocktails at the end. Serving it out here rather than in your session room means your set, staging and screens stay untouched and the next session starts on time. Dietary and cultural requirements are built in from the start

Very close. The two first-floor foyers sit right beside the session rooms along the Gallery Walkway, and the ground-floor foyer opens straight off the ballroom. A break is a few steps, not a walk.

Upstairs the foyers open onto a walkway glazed floor to ceiling, daylight all day and picturesque views out; in the evening it takes coloured lighting and turns into somewhere to stay rather than pass through. The ground-floor foyer is the private, spacious counterpart to the ballroom. Comfortable seating throughout, so people sit down and keep talking.
Every meeting is carbon compensated at no extra cost to you, through our partnership with First Climate. Reduce, reuse, replace, recycle is the working order behind it: single-use plastics on their way out, food waste measured and cut rather than talked about, EV charging in the garage and the building drawing its primary energy from an aquifer thermal energy storage system. Ask for the numbers and you’ll get them.
